Multiple Payment Methods Lead to Complexity
Many parking sites offer a bewildering array of payment options, including Touch ‘n Go cards, credit/debit cards, cash (through auto-payment machines), and even eWallet payments via QR codes. This mix of methods can be frustrating for both parkers and operators.
Parkers have to juggle multiple cards, cash, and potentially their phones for eWallets. Operators face the burden of managing various payment systems, leading to higher costs for equipment, maintenance, and administration in consolidation. Additionally, the current system lacks a seamless cashless and touchless experience.
TimeTec eWallet Direct:
A Streamlined Solution
TimeTec Parking recognizes these challenges and introduces eWallet Direct, an innovative solution designed to simplify parking.
Touchless, Cashless Convenience
TimeTec eWallet Direct leverages TimeTec’s smart License Plate Recognition (LPR) parking system. Registered users with compatible eWallets (currently Setel and Touch ‘n Go) can enter and exit car parks without stopping to pay. The parking fee is automatically deducted from their eWallets, creating a seamless experience.
Expanding Network and Future Goals
TimeTec has successfully implemented eWallet Direct at Serdang Hospital’s parking site. With over 50 parking sites already equipped with LPR systems, the company plans to migrate these locations to eWallet Direct soon.
The goal is to onboard more eWallets and ultimately achieve 100% eWallet parking fee payment at all TimeTec LPR-enabled sites by the end of 2026. This will eliminate the need for multiple payment methods and create a smoother parking experience for everyone.
