At a recent event, Aiden Teh, our Vice President of Growth, ignited a conversation with the students at the University of Reading Malaysia regarding the digitalisation of residential property management. This conversation shed light on the ever-evolving landscape of property management ecosystems and how the power the technology has played a huge part in reshaping traditional systems in residential property management.
Aiden began by dissecting the existing problems that are faced by the current landscape of property management. Currently, the management team adopts several different systems when it comes to managing different aspects of a residential community. While most of these systems are without a doubt useful in it’s field, they are either ineffective or siloed on their own. This causes management to face difficulties in making better decisions as crucial data are not available or interconnected to each other. He argued that this hinders efficiencies and discourages the potential for sustainable growth within communities.
Aiden introduced the concept of ‘Digitalization’ as a change within residential communities. By utilizing cutting-edge technological solutions and integrating property management, Aiden believes that it would streamline processes, enhance communication and empower both property owners and the management office.
He also strongly believes that through digitalizing a residential community, we would finally be able to achieve Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) objectives. He envisions a future where communities would embrace sustainable practices, reducing their environmental footprint while encouraging social cohesion and responsible governance.
Aiden urges future property management students to look towards a future where communities would adopt a ‘Smart City’ Ecosystem where everything can be executed by using solely a smartphone and without any reliance on physical paper that might pose a threat to the environment. It is a vision that challenges us to reimagine the possibilities of residential living to embrace the transformative power of technology in shaping a brighter tomorrow.
