3. How is payroll calculated?

Payroll calculation starts with the employee’s agreed-upon monthly salary. Overtime pay is calculated based on the hourly rate and the number of overtime hours worked. Any applicable allowances are added. Deductions such as EPF, SOCSO, and EIS are subtracted, along with monthly income tax (MTD/PCB) based on taxable income. The remaining amount after all deductions and additions is the net pay.
